About me: Pamela Jansury, PLCGS

I grew up in Massachusetts, a state steeped in rich history. As an 11th -generation Cape Codder, I quite literally walked in the footsteps of my ancestors every day. Yet for much of my life, I only had a passing interest in exploring my heritage. That is, until a few years ago when I inherited a treasure trove of old photographs, documents and family histories. My curiosity quickly became insatiable. The more I uncovered about my ancestors, the more I wanted to know - not just their names or how we were related, but who they were as people. Their stories captivated me.

What began as a hobby grew into a passion, and that passion became my career path. Today, I’m deeply committed to help others connect in meaningful ways with those who came before. Because their stories don’t just live in the past - they shape who we are in the present.

My qualifications:

I have attended RootsTech, the world’s largest genealogy conference three years running, virtually in 2023 and 2024 and in person in 2025.

I graduated from the International Institute of Genealogical Studies (https://genealogicalstudies.com) in August 2025, earning certificates in Business and Professional Development and American Records.

I am a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (https://www.apgen.org) and adhere to their code of ethics.

Fun fact:

As you’ve probably already guessed, my middle name is Jean. I’ve never been overly fond of it (apologies to those who share it), but I think I’ve put it to good use! I like the way it connects me to and honors my parents.
